Description

The most famous musical comedy composer and lyricist team you never heard of, Rogers & Sperberstein, have been coaxed out of retirement to once again bask in the spotlight and regale audiences with stories and songs from their near glorious partnership that almost began and definitely ended in, on and roundabout the Great White Way.

Sometimes referred to as the Borscht Belt dunderkinds of Broadway’s Golden Age, the two penned scores for too many unmemorable musicals that almost got them somewhere. True musical theater buffs may rejoice in hearing numbers from, among others, Kiss me Katz, My Fair Maideleh and The Sound of Confusion. Everyone else will just wonder.

Now Bernard Rogers and Herbert Sperberstein have dusted off their straw-boaters, polished their shoes and straightened their ties for an evening that will be nothing less than a musical lollapalousy right here in the Triple Cities. Be sure not to miss this high-crass show – unless you’ve got a better offer. An original spoof written and performed by Robert Rogers and David Sperber (with appearances by others who don’t yet want their names known).
